Dr. Robert C. Buckner, 1876

Robert Cooke Buckner, a Tennessee-born Baptist pastor, founded Buckner Orphans Home in 1879. He collected money and established Buckner Orphan home for those children who did not have parents due to several reasons. All begun with three children and now Buckner helps more than 70 000 children in 28 countries all over the world.

Today Buckner International is one of the biggest private social organizations in USA, whose policy is based on Christianity principles.

The main goals of Buckner International are as follows:
Children and family care – work with problematic, social risk families, supporting consultations, trainings and different support programs.
Orphan care – promoting foster care work, training staff of children care institutions, promoting local and international adoption, humanitarian aid, repair works in orphanages, building, Shoes for Orphan souls – program in USA and other countries.
Senior adult care – providing place of residence in specially made villages, free time activities and friendship.
